Job Summary
GIS Technologist at Duke Energy responsible for maintaining, updating, and posting data in the company GIS system, generating GIS-generated operations maps, performing quality control, and supporting training and documentation. Requires understanding of GIS software and utility networks, ability to interpret complex design drawings and maps, and effective communication. Hybrid work arrangement after onboarding with remote and onsite work.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Geography, Geology or Other Related Degree
- Four (4) or more years related work experience in GIS or related field
- Basic understanding of GIS data and utility systems (distribution, transmission, natural gas)
Desired Qualifications
- Certified GIS professional
- Experience in the utility industry
