Job Summary
Manage and update GIS databases to ensure accurate geographical data input and maintain data integrity through QA/QC and metadata standards. Assist in data manipulation, visualization, and map production by combining datasets to create cartographic products and develop exhibit maps for land acquisition and feasibility studies. Support the Land Department team on larger spatial projects while attending training sessions to enhance proficiency in ESRI ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro tools. This entry-level role offers recent graduates or early-career professionals hands-on GIS expertise within Georgia Power's enterprise environment.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of GIS-related experience
- recent college graduate with GIS coursework
- Diploma or certificate in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Geography, or related field
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro
- Knowledge of enterprise GIS databases and data management principles
- Solid cartographic and visualization skills
