Job Summary
Conduct office-based mapping tasks, data manipulation, and technical problem solving while managing ArcGIS Online accounts and geodata standards. Provide onsite and field-based services as the primary GIS resource for municipal clients, including GPS data collection, asset inspections, and condition assessments. Develop custom maps, dashboards, and web/mobile applications to support public works and utilities, while contributing to proposal preparation and client training. Maintain reliable, accurate GIS systems aligned with operational needs across the east-coast Florida region. Schedule includes approximately 75% office-based GIS work and 25% field-based GPS services and inspections. Requires a Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field, 3+ years of municipal or public works experience, and proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and Online. Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 lbs. are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Remote Sensing or related field
- 3+ years related professional experience in the field of municipal government, utilities, or public works
- Professional experience with current ArcGIS Pro releases and ArcGIS Online
- Working knowledge of map design and end-user focused layout
- Working knowledge of Public Works and municipal engineering services
- 75% office-based GIS and Spatial Technology related tasks
- 25% field-based, performing GPS services, data collection, inspections, condition assessments in a wide-variety of project types and environments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to demonstrate efficient problem-solving techniques
- Eagerness to learn new skills as well as hone existing strengths, take initiative and be a proactive team member, as well as at times be a sufficient self-starter on tasks
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's east-coast Florida region (own transportation)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with asset management systems (Cityworks, Cartegraph, Lucity, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise administration or implementation
- Experience with GIS-related scripting/coding (Python, Arcade, etc.)
