Job Summary
GIS Solution Engineer in Esri's Geo Experience team responsible for presenting, demonstrating, and supporting selling Esri software and solutions. Build relationships with customers, become a subject matter expert of ArcGIS across industries, and communicate the value of GIS to address complex business challenges. Lead technical demonstrations, craft solutions that align Esri technology with customer needs, deliver compelling presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences, and travel to client sites (domestic/international) as needed. The role emphasizes problem solving, solution design, and ongoing collaboration with sales and customer teams to drive GIS adoption and business value; requires strong Python/JavaScript programming, IT understanding of ArcGIS, and proven ability to present and engage customers at conferences and trade shows. Base salary range provided ($79,248—$130,728 USD).
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 1+ years of experience in various industries
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing)
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments (Microsoft Azure or AWS)
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
