GIS Regulatory Operations Student

Job Summary
Collect and file required spatial data, digitize datasets, and generate application maps for the Regulatory, Environment, and Pathways teams. Manage and organize existing and new environmental GIS data while assisting with non-spatial data management using MS Office. Acquire hands-on experience with industry software including ArcGIS Map, ArcGIS Pro, FME, and Global Mapper to build innovative models and project-specific maps in Portal. This 8-month work term in Calgary begins May 2027 on a 5-on, 2-off schedule, featuring a safety-sensitive position. Join a team collaborating across Mining, Environment, and Regulatory disciplines to support Canadian Natural's operations.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a GIS degree, applied degree or diploma program
- Motivated, collaborative, organized, and able to manage competing priorities
- Solid understanding and experience of ESRI products (ESRI ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Model Builder)
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous field data collection experience using ArcGIS
- ArcGIS Enterprise knowledge
- Previous FME, Python, AutoCAD experience
- An understanding of remote sensing methods and data processing (LiDAR; Photogrammetry)
