Job Summary
Produce operational maps for delegations, field teams, and management using QGIS or ArcGIS. Conduct geospatial analysis to identify humanitarian needs, track population movement, monitor incidents, and assess damage via remote sensing and satellite imagery. Collect GPS data through mobile applications and georeferenced surveys, while maintaining geodatabases and mapping portals. Develop web maps, dashboards, and decision-support tools for visualization. Train operational teams on effective use of geospatial data and GIS tools. This role supports humanitarian operations, crisis management, and international development projects within Merkle's global network.
Required Qualifications
- Education in: Geomatics/GIS; Geography; Remote Sensing; Environmental Sciences; Geospatial Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in GIS
- QGIS or ArcGIS / Esri
- Geographic database management
- Python (commonly ArcPy, sometimes GeoPandas)
- Dashboard development (Tableau, Power BI)
- Web mapping GPS and mobile data collection
- Spatial analysis and geospatial data processing
