Job Summary
Concord High School girls soccer coach position after school/evening duties. Responsible for applying coaching theory and techniques for the sport, ensuring athlete safety through care and prevention of injuries, maintaining CPR/EMT or first aid credentials, teaching game rules, and upholding the district Code of Ethical Conduct. Will supervise student-athletes, promote teamwork, discipline, and fair play, and coordinate with school administration and booster groups while adhering to CIF/NCS regulations. Emphasis on youth development, proper supervision, and safe use of equipment, with fingerprint clearance prior to assuming coaching duties.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and competency related to care and prevention of athletic injuries and CPR (CPR card)
- Valid EMT I or II card or equivalent
- First aid certificate or card
- Knowledge of coaching theory and techniques for the sport being coached
- Completion of college-level course in care and prevention of athletic injuries or related training
- Prior services as a student coach or assistant athletic coach or related experience
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of the sport and CIF/North Coast Section
- Understanding of child or adolescent psychology as it relates to sports participation (education on youth development)
- Fingerprint clearance prior to coaching duties
- Code of Ethical Conduct expectations for coaches
- Ability to communicate rules and requirements effectively to student athletes
- Maintain player safety and welfare as highest priority
- Provide leadership promoting teamwork, discipline, and fair play
- Provide supervision of students at all times
- Instruct players safely with equipment
- Avoid providing or encouraging non-prescriptive drugs or substances to enhance performance
- Work effectively with booster groups and school administration
