Job Summary
Coach and lead Girls JV Basketball program at Roosevelt High School, responsible for planning and conducting team practices, training, and competition; supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and games (including transportation), enforce sport rules, develop game plans and strategies for the level of competition, and create a safe, ethical environment with strong communication with players and parents; requires knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures and the ability to model ethical behavior while guiding players in development and performance.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures
- Possess knowledge of sport, skills and techniques from fundamentals to game planning and strategies appropriate to the level of competition
- Possess knowledge of rules of sport and ability to relay and enforce those rules to student athletes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create a physically and emotionally safe environment for student athletes
- Model and teach ethical behavior
- Ability to perform assigned duties
- Supervise student athletes at before, during and after practices and competitions, including during transportation to and from contests until all athletes are with parents/guardians
