Job Summary
Teach eighth-grade mathematics at Clark Middle School. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the district curriculum, reflect accommodations for differences in individual student needs, and use instructional strategies to meet varied learning styles. Assess student learning through formal and informal methods; plan and adapt instruction based on results. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for IEPs; work with colleagues to establish instructional goals and methods per district requirements. Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, supervise extracurricular activities as assigned, and foster a positive environment that supports student growth and development. Maintain professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and community members; participate in staff development and comply with state, district, and school regulations. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures; perform other duties as assigned by district/campus administration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training or work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
