Job Summary
Assist in supervising the varsity basketball program for grades 7–12 under the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Director. Duties include providing supervision and quality instruction, enforcing rules, developing safe practice environments, planning and conducting practices and contests, ensuring athletic eligibility and required medical certifications, coordinating injury prevention and paperwork, and upholding school and district policies. Requires a Bachelor's degree, a current Kansas State Teaching Certificate, health/inoculation certificates, and at least three years of secondary coaching experience; must obtain and maintain first aid, CPR, and AED certifications; strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities; and commitment to sportsmanship and program development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university or meet Rule 10 requirements
- Current Kansas State Teaching Certificate on file in the Central Office meet Rule 10 requirements
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office (after employment offer is made)
- At least three years of coaching experience at the secondary level
- Ability to obtain and maintain current first aid, CPR and AED certifications
- Ability to provide supervision and quality instruction to staff and participants
