Job Summary
Define and execute the annual development work plan, translating strategic priorities into fundable opportunities for annual giving, individual donors, institutional pipelines, corporate partnerships, grants, and special events. Cultivate and sustain relationships with major gift prospects, alumnae, and community stakeholders while managing donor data systems and tracking progress toward revenue goals. Partner with the CEO, Board, and cross-functional teams to build a high-performing department, oversee the departmental budget, and ensure alignment with GSUSA standards. Work a hybrid schedule including one office day, two travel days across 40 counties, and varied hours for evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field
- Five or more years of progressive fundraising experience
- Proven track record of success in individual, corporate and foundation fundraising
- Demonstrated success in securing major and leadership-level gifts ($20,000 and above)
- Proven ability to plan and execute successful fundraising campaigns and events
- Strategic thinker with strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent relationship builder with outstanding communication skills and presentation abilities
- Self-starter with initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to maintaining a high customer service focus for all internal and external customers
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Proficiency in donor management systems and CRM software
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Valid auto insurance
- Acceptable driving record
- Access to a vehicle daily
- Willingness and ability to travel through the council's geographic area
- Willingness and ability to work varied hours, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement
- Become and remain a registered member of GSUSA
- Successfully pass criminal and driver background investigation
