Job Summary
Deliver hands-on STEM, life skills, and environmental programs to girls in grades K-12, including summer camp programming. Evaluate program success, assist with weekend scheduling and volunteer coordination, and prepare materials based on the current curriculum. Maintain inventory, order supplies in advance, and cultivate relationships with community partners and school groups. Lead one-hour sessions independently, fostering curiosity and creativity while upholding the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Work Saturdays and Sundays as required, supporting membership growth goals within the Jay, Blackford, Grant, Delaware, Madison, and Hamilton communities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Auto insurance
- Membership in the Girl Scout organization
- Subscription to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Ability to stand on feet for an extended period of time
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds
- Flexibility to work hours including evenings and weekends as required
- Ability to work independently or in teams
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people from a variety of backgrounds
- Independently command the attention of K through 12th grade girls for around an hour to lead them through a variety of STEM, life skills and environmental based programs
- Ability to inspire curiosity and creativity in youth
- Develops a depth of knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
- Ability to articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization
- Ability to anticipate, prevent, and resolve conflicts while maintaining productive working relationships
- Ability to identify and analyze existing and potential problems systematically and thoroughly
- Ability to recognize when immediate action is required
- Ability to adjust, modify own behavior, and remain flexible in response to changing situations and environments
Desired Qualifications
- Some college or college degree
- Basic knowledge of Girl Scout program
- Ability to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership

- Ability to work under the direction of a Senior Director of Girl Experience
- Ability to interact with volunteers and students throughout the experience
- Ability to prepare materials for activities, programs and events based on the current curriculum
- Ability to monitor inventory and order supplies in advance as needed
- Ability to research and develop new lesson plans
- Ability to understand that council priorities are growing membership and cultivating new donors
- Ability to develop an annual goal that supports the membership growth priority
- Ability to implement an action plan that supports the membership growth priority
- Ability to facilitate conflict resolution
- Ability to identify and analyze factors contributing to conflict
- Ability to anticipate potential conflicts
