GI Technician I - ASC

GI Technician I – ASC provides intraprocedural support and assists with patient care under RN/physician supervision. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with specimen retrieval, labeling, and transport to lab; organizing and preparing procedure rooms and equipment; performing high-level disinfection and reprocessing of equipment/scopes; calibrating, operating, and maintaining endoscopy and ultrasound equipment; documenting procedures, images, and patient charges; assisting in inventory management and performing clerical tasks; assisting with patient positioning and transport while adhering to age-specific care standards. Requires knowledge of growth and development, the ability to assess patient data, and to provide care per department policies. Must obtain GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification within 6 months and BLS within 6 months. Education: High School Graduate. Experience: typically 1 year in nursing assistant, medical assistant, or similar patient care. Schedule: Part-time, flexible day shift, Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm; no weekends/calls/major holidays.
