Job Summary
Finance and Accounting Manager to own financial operations, accounting, and financial statements for Xona’s Montreal-based Canadian entity, collaborating with the California-based team to build scalable financial infrastructure. Responsibilities include owning month-end and year-end close, end-to-end accounting for expenses, AP/AR, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across multi-location entities; enforcing inter-entity accounting practices and transfer pricing; coordinating with program managers and external governmental contacts to recognize revenue and contract milestones. The role may evolve toward a financial controllership position based on experience and interests; exposure to ASC 606, GAAP, and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks) is valued, with a preference for autonomy in a fast-growth environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in financial operations, or a similar field
- Exposure to a variety of accounting functions through experience in small to mid-sized startups
- Understanding of GAAP in Canada and the United States
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar ERPs
