Job Summary
German Linguist sought to support current and future foreign language and linguistic requirements for YSG/TU, including interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and classroom/virtual language instruction. Open evergreen requisition across portfolio with opportunities across clients, projects, and locations. Candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles. Must meet ILR English proficiency (2+ at minimum) per CAT I/II/III categories, be a U.S. citizen or eligible for government vetting, and demonstrate ability to conduct idiomatic translations, consecutive interpretation, and cultural familiarity. Willingness to live/work in harsh environments, handle high-pressure situations, and function as part of a highly trained team. Travel may be required; locations include remote operations and CONUS sites such as Huntsville, AL and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Required Qualifications
- ILR English proficiency level 2+ (CAT I/II/III)
- Category I/II/III linguist eligibility with security vetting
- US citizenship or eligible status with appropriate security clearances (SECRET/TS/SCI as applicable)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations and accurate interpretation (English <-> foreign language)
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adults
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments and under high pressure
- Ability to work as part of a professional team
- Interpretation, translation, transcription, editing, and instruction capabilities
