Job Summary
German Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor provides virtual language instruction to raise proficiency across Listening, Reading, and Speaking (DLPT/OPI/ACTFL), plus instruction on regional culture using blended-learning methods. Responsibilities include creating/adjusting lesson plans, delivering instruction based on designated POI and ILR levels (0+ to 3), reviewing assignments, delivering feedback, maintaining a professional virtual classroom, and collaborating with Site Lead/POI analyst to address curriculum gaps. Desired qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, experience with online platforms (e.g., CL-150, Blackboard), and a remote instructional setup. Location is remote with primary assignment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA (US). Travel: none.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Educated native speaker or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials to customer needs
- Access to Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or smart tablet, and high-speed internet connection
