Geriatrician Section Head - Department of Medicine, MUSC

Lead geriatrics across inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, and home settings as Geriatric Section Head within the Division of General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics & Palliative Care. Direct the vision for geriatric care, support the growth of the next generation of healthcare professionals, and collaborate on opportunities such as a potential dual appointment with the Charleston VA. Responsibilities include directing clinical care strategy, teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty, and shaping an academic mission with emphasis on teaching, collaboration, and research. The role emphasizes patient-centered, high-quality care, leadership in academics, and alignment with MUSC’s mission to serve older adults. Requirements include BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with geriatric fellowship training, SC medical licensure eligibility, proven leadership in teaching/research, and an academic orientation.
