Job Summary
Geriatrician needed for a full-time role with a network of federally qualified community health centers in the Bronx, NY. Responsibilities include examining patients, diagnosing conditions from test results, prescribing and administering treatments, explaining procedures and test results, maintaining patient records, coordinating referrals, advising on diet and prevention, maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance, planning health programs, attending medical staff meetings, providing 24-hour on-call coverage, and conducting research related to geriatric care. Requires MD/DO with fellowship in geriatrics, NY license, CDS, DEA, BLS, and Board Certification. Proficiency in geriatric assessments, polypharmacy management, age-related conditions, and EHRs is expected; ideal candidates demonstrate strong clinical judgment, empathy, communication, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. Flexible scheduling with on-call rotation, competitive salary ($225k-$250k), robust benefits, relocation reimbursement, loan repayment eligibility, and CME support are offered.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in geriatrics with fellowship in geriatrics
- Valid NY State license, CDS, DEA, and BLS
- Board Certified in geriatrics
- Experience or passion for community healthcare
- Proficiency in geriatric assessments, polypharmacy management, age-related diagnoses, and EHRs
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, empathy, cultural competence, teamwork
