Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess mobility, strength, and endurance, then administer skilled therapeutic interventions including exercises, manual therapy, and advanced modalities. Regularly document progress and adjust treatment plans to optimize rehabilitation outcomes for geriatric patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of occupational and speech therapists to share care strategies, while guiding patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention techniques. Implement fall prevention safety measures and maintain strict ethical confidentiality standards throughout all patient interactions.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Therapy
- Possession of valid State licensure for practicing as a Physical Therapist
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMRs) and documentation systems
- Commitment to evidence-based practices
- Dedication to delivering patient-centered care
- Ability to work autonomously while also thriving as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm work schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate or Master's degree
- Previous experience in geriatric therapy
- Experience utilizing advanced therapeutic modalities and techniques suitable for the geriatric population
- Familiarity with fall prevention theories and techniques
