Job Summary
Provide activities of daily living care to residents under licensed staff supervision, including bathing, shaving, changing clothing, nail care, and toilet needs. Serve food promptly, assist with feeding when necessary, and promote nutrition according to resident care plans. Perform resident treatments as assigned by the Team Leader within the nursing scope of practice and actively participate in care planning. Maintain clean linens, make beds, and record resident information concisely while reporting objective observations of condition changes. Lift and transfer residents up to 30 pounds frequently throughout the shift, adhering to the Lift Free Program and safety protocols. Treat all resident information as confidential and comply with established policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift and transfer 30 pounds of resident weight frequently (30 times) throughout the shift
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift
- Organizational skills and ability to do sequential events
- Listed on the state registry as a Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment
- Motivation and desire to work with geriatric persons
- Ability to speak English at a level residents can understand
- Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and provide appropriate resident care
- Must be able to constantly work on their feet during an 8 hour shift
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight
- Must be able to transfer and reposition a resident at least 25 times throughout the shift
- Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies
- Must be able to handle the physical transfer of residents from unsafe to safer locations in the event of a fire or other disaster
- Ability to do sequential events/tasks
