Job Summary
Lead Geotechnician overseeing geotechnician activities across Nevada and SE Idaho, supervising drilling and sampling programs, ensuring QA/QC and safety standards, coordinating with geologists and drill crews, and maintaining sample integrity and data collection. Responsibilities include leading field execution, core handling, provisioning of samples and shipments, photographing cores, coordinating data collection (including core orientation, recovery, and QA/QC measurements like specific gravity and point load testing), and ensuring proper SOP adherence. Requires ability to mentor field technicians, work in outdoor remote environments, lift up to 50 lbs, proficiency with Excel, and US work authorization. Travel across sites with 4 days on/3 days off rotational schedule; potential per diem and housing support may be available.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience supporting drilling and exploration programs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor field technicians
- Strong understanding of sampling methods and QA/QC procedures
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in outdoor and remote environments across Nevada and Idaho
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data entry systems
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without work visa sponsorship
