Job Summary

Assist engineers and geologists in assessing soil, rock, and groundwater conditions for construction and infrastructure projects. Conduct field and laboratory tests, including in-situ probing, Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), and Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests. Document field conditions, take photographs, and prepare logs and sketches. Perform soil classification, moisture content, Atterberg limits, gradation, and other laboratory testing as assigned. Conduct shrink/swell analysis of soils to determine expansion potential. Analyze test results for engineering reports and ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and local regulations. Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager and Shrink/Swell Manager to ensure project completion within schedule and budget, while maintaining client satisfaction. Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, maps, and technical drawings and maintain accurate records of test results and observations. Exhibit strong organizational and verbal communication skills and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in team or individual settings.
