Job Summary
Geotechnical Staff Engineer role based in Duluth, GA, to oversee geotechnical investigations for transportation projects, including field and laboratory data analysis, preparation/review of foundation and environmental reports, site visits, construction support, cost/effort estimating, and participation in research. Responsibilities include planning drilling and sampling operations, interpreting test data, and preparing Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and various foundation investigation reports (ASD/LRFD) such as Bridge and Wall Foundation Investigations, Soil Survey Summaries, and more. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology; Engineer-In-Training preferred; 1 year civil engineering experience (2+ geotechnical preferred); strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; valid Georgia driver’s license; commitment to safety and delivering high-quality customer service. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology from an accredited college or university
- Engineer-In-Training preferred
- One (1) year of civil engineering experience; two (2) years geotechnical experience preferred but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of geotechnical engineering principles
- Proficiency in mathematical concepts used in transportation engineering
- Ability to interpret and analyze bridge and roadway plans and geotechnical reports
- Valid Georgia Driver's license
