Job Summary
Lead long-term strategic planning for high-profile geotechnical projects in the Seattle area, managing financial and technical aspects while executing work to meet quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements. Direct field observation and testing programs, prepare recommendations for foundation systems, and develop hazard mitigation measures for seismic landscapes. Manage work assignments, demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills to junior staff, and maintain strong client relationships through effective verbal and written communications.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a PE for State of Washington
- Must be a technical geotechnical engineer
- Must be a full fledged PM with financials
- Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Geology
- Specific coursework in geotechnical engineering or engineering geology
- Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer
- 8-10 years of relevant site investigation, geotechnical analysis, and geotechnical engineering construction support experience
- Experience including professional services consulting
- Minimum 1 2 years of cradle to grave Project Management
- Must be proficient at writing, review, and editing technical reports
- Ability to comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company
Desired Qualifications
- Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology
- Seismic knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of the California seismic landscape
- Proven skills of developing hazard mitigation measures
- Experience specific to mid-and high-rise buildings
- Experience with deep excavations, shoring and underpinning
- Experience with mass grading, dewatering, and ground improvements techniques
- Experience developing and managing financial and technical aspects of projects
- Skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling
- Ability to effectively prepare recommendations for various foundation systems, including driven piles, drilled piers, mat foundations, micro-piles, and spread footings
- Experience developing and managing work
- Coaching and mentoring skills to more junior level staff
- Experience supporting marketing other, additional services to existing clients
- Must be licensed as a Geotechnical Engineer
- Must be licensed as a Certified Engineering Geologist
