Job Summary
Geotechnical Project Engineer role overseeing geotechnical projects across multiple offices (Columbia, SC and Augusta, GA). Responsibilities include directing projects through all phases, evaluating field observations and lab results to develop practical recommendations, preparing proposals and technical documentation, coordinating with clients and contractors, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring safety and on-time project delivery. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, 4+ years of geotechnical experience (with project management preferred), and a Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within six months. Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather, with physical demands including walking on uneven terrain and lifting 40-50 lbs; full-time role with competitive pay based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or a related engineering field
- 4+ years of related geotechnical engineering experience, which preferably includes some extent of project management responsibilities
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
