Job Summary
Geotechnical Project Engineer to support geotechnical investigations, field testing, data analysis, and report preparation on civil, infrastructure, and land development projects in Reno, NV. Responsibilities include overseeing borings, test pits, CPT investigations; logging soil/rock samples using USCS/ASTM methods; coordinating with drill crews; performing Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, compaction, consolidation, and permeability tests; developing subsurface profiles; conducting bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and liquefaction analyses; supporting foundation and pavement design with gINT, SLOPE/W, and SETTLE3; drafting boring logs, figures, cross-sections, and geotechnical investigation reports; performing field observation and materials testing during earthwork; and compiling daily field reports. Required: BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with 1-3 years geotechnical experience and NV PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months). Preferred: MS in Geotechnical Engineering. Proficiency with ASTM/AASHTO standards; familiarity with gINT, AutoCAD, GIS helpful. Must be able to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering (geotechnical focus preferred)
- 1-3 years geotechnical experience
- Current PE license in Nevada or ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire
- Familiarity with ASTM/AASHTO test standards
- Experience with gINT, AutoCAD, or GIS a plus
- Proficiency in field observation and data interpretation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- License/Certification: Valid driver’s license
