Job Summary
Manage multiple geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets while coordinating field investigations, drilling subcontractors, and laboratory testing. Plan subsurface investigations by reviewing boring logs, geophysical data, and site conditions to develop engineering recommendations. Perform analyses including shallow and deep foundation design, pile capacity evaluations, settlement studies, liquefaction assessments, and earthwork recommendations. Prepare technical reports, design memoranda, and earthwork specifications for renewable energy projects such as utility-scale solar, BESS, and substations. Provide construction support by responding to RFIs, evaluating subsurface conditions, and collaborating with contractors to resolve field challenges. Communicate project status and technical findings to clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams. Participate in client meetings, proposal preparation, and business development efforts to build relationships with developers and EPC contractors. Work in San Antonio, TX or Eden Prairie, MN on a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- 3+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with increasing responsibility in project execution and technical analysis
- Experience managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, earthwork design, and geotechnical engineering principles
- Experience preparing technical reports, engineering calculations, and design recommendations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common geotechnical engineering software
- Strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with clients
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed and work outdoors during field investigations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with renewable energy, utility, transportation, commercial, or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of driven pile design, seismic site classification, liquefaction analysis, and foundation engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
