Job Summary
Manage day-to-day laboratory operations and personnel while coordinating testing schedules and project priorities. Ensure compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and NYSDOT standards by reviewing and approving testing reports and documentation. Maintain quality management and accreditation requirements through equipment calibration and maintenance programs. Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory staff while promoting workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Serve as the primary laboratory contact for clients and project managers. This role supports Atlantic Testing Laboratories' full-service engineering support firm, which operates from 11 offices across New York State.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
Desired Qualifications
- 5 years of geotechnical laboratory experience preferred
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and NYSDOT testing procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred
