Job Summary
Geotechnical Field Technician will support the Project Manager, staff engineers, lab manager, or other staff as directed to ensure client satisfaction by adhering to applicable standards, specifications and company guidelines. Responsibilities include field logging in various geologic formations across Texas, performing lab tests, documenting work on provided media/forms, and providing support to project stakeholders. Must be able to lift materials, endure year-round outdoor work, cover night/weekend duties as needed, travel up to ~95% of the time, and obtain related certifications while following safety and quality practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Geology OR minimum 2 years experience in soil borehole logging, bedrock characterization and lab testing of soil samples
- Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples
- Ability to tolerate year-round outdoor work
- Ability to work nights and weekends if required
- Valid Texas Driver’s License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses
- Willingness to travel and work out of town about 95% of the time in a month when needed and ability to work over the weekends if needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire related certifications, review ASTM standards for lab testing and field work
