Job Summary
Geotechnical Engineer with PE-licensed expertise to lead and support subsurface investigations, analyze subsurface conditions for tunnels, shafts, trenchless systems, and open-cut excavations, develop defensible geotechnical recommendations, prepare data and interpretive reports, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams from design through construction. Responsibilities include planning and participating in investigations, interpreting field data, turning data into practical solutions, delivering geotechnical deliverables, conducting site visits and construction observation, and supporting project delivery through RFIs, submittals, and field communications. Requirements include a Minnesota PE license (or ability to obtain), a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical emphasis preferred), 4-15 years of geotechnical experience, underground design or tunneling experience, strong subsurface investigation skills, and excellent written/verbal communication.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota (or ability to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical emphasis preferred)
- 4 - 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience
- Experience with underground design, trenchless methods, or tunneling projects
- Strong background in subsurface investigations, soil borings, and geotechnical report development
- Experience with open-cut excavations, slope stability, and earthwork design
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
