Job Summary
Plan, develop, coordinate, review, and assess project designs, including organizing design teams, selecting equipment standards, and preparing plans and specifications. Perform remedial investigations and feasibility studies, prepare drawings, cost estimates, and schedules, and inspect plans. Provide day-to-day support to Site Leads and engineer field support during the construction phase. Assist in providing assessments of work scope, safety problems, and special design considerations, while conducting trade-off studies based on costs, schedule, and performance. Participate in internal reviews, train and mentor junior staff, and lead aspects of tasks or projects. This role requires 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience, a Professional Engineering License, and 30% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Professional Engineering License
- Understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques with knowledge of environmental regulations and local utility codes
- Advanced working knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering
- Skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks and to analyze and develop innovative solutions to problems
- Ability to recommend approaches for new and improved processes
- Ability to work with broad objectives, with latitude to determine the best way to accomplish tasks
- Ability to assist in business development or proposal efforts
- Ability to lead certain aspects of a task or project
- Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job
- This position is required to travel 30% of the time
