Job Summary
Geotechnical Engineer responsible for offshore site investigations and the coordination of onshore laboratory testing campaigns, data quality checks, and the preparation of high-quality deliverables. Duties include performing detailed soil descriptions per international standards, conducting index laboratory tests (water content, soil density, undrained shear strength), processing in-situ data (CPT/SCPT), QA/QC checks, and producing factual reports, geotechnical logs, and appendices. The role also supports offshore data acquisition activities, contributes to workflow improvements, and collaborates with geotechnical laboratory and geoconsulting teams to deliver project outcomes. Requires an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related field, with at least three years of offshore geotechnical experience, knowledge of CPT, borehole sampling, geophysical methods, and proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in offshore geotechnical engineering
- Strong knowledge of offshore geotechnical methods including CPT, borehole sampling, and geophysical survey techniques
- Familiarity with coding in Python and/or MATLAB for data processing or analysis
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
