Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training

Job Summary
Conduct geotechnical fieldwork for subsurface investigations and geophysical surveys, including drilling, sampling, visual reconnaissance, and soil logging while communicating with contractors and clients. Observe and document construction activities, performing material testing and inspections. Review soil and bedrock samples, in-situ and laboratory test results, and execute shallow and deep foundation design calculations under senior staff supervision. Requires EIT certification, Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, and willingness to travel 75% to project sites across the U.S. for the first two years. Valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam passed
- Willing to work in outdoor conditions
- Willing to travel to various project locations throughout the United States
- Willing to relocate to RRC's Round Rock, TX Office
- Valid driver license
- Clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Coursework in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, geology, and earth structures
- Proficiency with MS Office computer programs
- Familiarity with gINT, GIS mapping programs, Slope/W, and LPile software
- Strong analytical and communication skills
