Job Summary
Geotechnical Engineer at NTH Consultants, Ltd. will perform engineering analyses and calculations using software and manual methods; prepare/review geotechnical reports, proposals, cost estimates, plans, drawings, technical specifications, and client presentations; lead field observations and coordinate geotechnical drilling and permits; oversee earthwork, dewatering, and excavation support installations; conduct field testing and interpret soil/rock data; perform seawall/shoreline inspections and develop risk assessments; interpret subsoil conditions and construct geological profiles; communicate effectively with subcontractors, clients, and internal staff; present project findings to clients and technical teams; and contribute to project planning, budgeting, and business development while traveling to job sites in Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (emphasis on geotechnical engineering) from a 4-year accredited college or university
- 3+ years of demonstrated Geotechnical Engineering experience
- Professional licensure in the State of Michigan or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Experience with geotechnical software for slope stability, earth retention/shoring, settlement, and foundation design
