Job Summary
Geotechnical Driller responsible for performing a variety of drilling activities to obtain boring samples, including soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classifications, in-situ testing and monitoring well installation. Operates drilling equipment at shallow to moderate depths to perform complex site investigations, handles drill rig transportation, trains Driller Assistants, coordinates daily work schedules at the job site, directs site inquiries, prepares tooling and supplies, and retrieves/logs samples while maintaining records. Requires outdoor work, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to travel up to 50% with a High School Diploma or equivalent; CDL preferred. Located in Dallas, Texas with Intertek-PSI within Intertek’s Professional Service Industries division. This role is involved in geotechnical drilling and related site investigations for civil and commercial construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years’ related geotechnical drilling experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
- Travel up to 50%
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
- Ability to work over night hours and off shift
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
