Job Summary
Georgian Linguist role supporting Language Support Services across YSG and TU, focusing on interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction. Open evergreen requisition for current and future requirements across the portfolio with opportunities across remote and CONUS locations. Eligible CAT I/II/III linguists will have ILR English proficiency levels (2+ for CAT I/II, 3+ for CAT III), security clearances as specified, willingness to live/work in harsh environments, and the ability to operate as part of a highly trained team. Remote work options available; some travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at CAT I, II, or III with ILR level requirements (ILR 2+ for English for CAT I/II; ILR 3+ for CAT III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations English<->foreign language
- Ability to conduct consecutive accurate translation/interpreting
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Willingness to live/work in harsh environments as mission dictates
- Ability to function under high pressure and as part of a professional team
- Speak English and target language fluently with regionalisms and slang
- Preserve tone and register of source materials
- Security clearance eligibility as per CAT I/II/III requirements
- Location: Remote / CONUS locations; travel may be required
