Job Summary
Georgian (KAT) Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor provides virtual instruction in Georgian-language proficiency and regional culture using modern blended-learning methods. Responsibilities include delivering DLPT/OPI/ACTFL-aligned instruction across listening, reading, and speaking, teaching regional culture topics, developing lesson plans and materials based on POI, assessing and advancing ILR levels from 0+ to 3, reviewing assignments and providing feedback, maintaining a professional virtual learning environment, and collaborating with Site Lead, POI analyst, and Language Instructional Developer to address curriculum gaps. Requires US citizenship, a Bachelor's degree, and equipment for virtual instruction. Some travel may be required; location is remote with primary site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Educated native speaker of Georgian (KAT) or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience providing foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of cultural, social, and political environment of the Georgian language region
- Experience creating blended learning lessons and tailoring materials to customer needs
- Access to Windows computer, webcam, headset with microphone, phone or smart tablet, and high-speed internet connection
