Job Summary
Full-time Geophysical Wireline Logging Engineer/Technician based out of Irvine, CA. Field-based role involving preparation and mobilization of geophysical wireline logging equipment, QC testing, transport to sites, site inductions, rig-up/rig-down over boreholes, and data processing under supervision. Travel is extensive (up to 70% nationally and internationally) to client sites, including remote locations with varied environmental conditions. Responsibilities include operating equipment to client specs, maintaining field equipment, organizing field data, and producing reports to client specifications. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's in geophysics/geosciences/geology or related Earth Science discipline, strong electronics/mechanical tool proficiency, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication. Must have valid driver's license and, for government contracts, US citizenship; passport readiness within 90 days and ability to work outdoors and lift/move equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or an Earth Science related discipline and 1-4 years of fieldwork experience in a similar field OR a Master's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or an Earth Science related discipline with minimal fieldwork experience
- Strong experience with electronic survey equipment and electro-mechanical tools to acquire data
- Ability to work independently or with a team and adapt to changing conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to travel nationally and internationally up to 70% travel
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Current passport or ability to secure passport within 90 days
- US citizenship for government contracts
