Job Summary
Geophysical Wireline Logging Engineer/Technician needed for full-time, field-based work from our Tucson, AZ office. Responsibilities include preparing and rigging geophysical wireline logging equipment, conducting QC tests, transporting equipment to field sites, site inductions and Health & Safety compliance, operating and QC'ing logging equipment over boreholes, assisting with data processing/reporting to client specifications, and maintaining field gear. Travel up to 70% nationally and internationally; field projects range from two days to two months in remote and challenging environments. Requires Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Geophysics/Geosciences/Geology or related Earth Science, with 1-4 years field experience (or equivalent experience in repair/maintenance of electro-mechanical systems), willingness to learn, strong communication, ability to work independently or in a team, valid driver’s license and passport, and US citizenship for government contracts. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varied conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or an Earth Science related discipline and 1-4 years of fieldwork experience in a similar field OR a Master's degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, Geology, or an Earth Science related discipline with minimal fieldwork experience; OR candidates with strong, demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and systems, and a willingness to learn the scientific principle of geophysical wireline logging.
