Job Summary
Underground Geologist to support ore control and daily production at an active mining operation. Responsibilities include face sampling, muck pile sampling, material delineation, ore vs waste classification, monitoring tonnage movements, underground geological mapping and sampling, collecting channel/face samples with proper labeling and chain of custody, data entry into ore control software, compiling daily/weekly/monthly production reports, and cross-department liaison with mine operations, survey, engineering, and mill teams. Requires ability to work independently underground in a physically demanding environment and strong attention to data accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- Previous experience in underground geology, ore control, or production geology preferred.
- Strong mapping, sampling, and geological data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in digital data entry and geological/ore control software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently underground in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Authorized to work in the US without work visa sponsorship.
