Job Summary
Geologist with a 4-year degree and 15+ years of experience, able to lead environmental investigations and field projects. Performs field and office tasks applying basic scientific principles, assists with drafting technical proposals and project documents (work plans, UFP-QAPPs, monitoring reports, closure reports), leads field work for environmental investigations (drilling oversight, groundwater monitoring, sample collection across groundwater, surface water, sediment, soils, lysimeters), and leads geologic, hydrogeologic, and hydrochemistry tasks including cross sections, 3D model development, and data evaluation of environmental analyses. Strong communication and writing skills, team-oriented and capable of coordinating both office and field efforts, with willingness to travel up to 60% of the time. This is a position in Parsons Federal Solutions, focused on defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental missions. Salary range provided: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in geological sciences, or related discipline
- 15+ years of related work experience, including experience as technical leader with oversight of a group of lower-level geoscience/hydrogeological professionals
- Consulting experience in both the office (writing work plans, reports, coordinating field projects, etc.) and field (Health & Safety responsibility, subcontractor/drilling oversight, groundwater/soil sampling, etc.)
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- OSHA 8-hour Supervisor training
- OSHA 30-hour Construction training
- Experience planning, executing, and leading environmental sampling programs
- Professional Geologist/Geoscientist Registration, or application in process
- Strong communication and writing
- Demonstration of success in working in a team environment, being an excellent team player as well as a leader
- Willingness to travel to project sites and perform field work up to 60% of time
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in geology, or related natural sciences discipline.
- Experience managing staff or leading teams on PFAS projects and/or mining/conventional contaminant projects.
- Experience with PFAS sampling procedures.
