Job Summary
Geologist responsible for integrating geoscience data to optimize hydrocarbon development. Applies geological interpretation to map or model reservoirs, analyzes well logs and seismic data, and contributes to field development planning. Key duties include producing maps and cross-sections, evaluating prospect areas, supporting integrated subsurface teams, and communicating results to field and office personnel. Requires familiarity with geosteering concepts, petrophysical knowledge, and collaboration across engineering and operations. Preferred candidates have GIS/mapping software experience and proficiency with Python data tools; role emphasizes team-based problem solving and safe field practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or related discipline
- 3+ years of upstream oil and gas experience (internships or academic research count)
- Familiarity with interpretation and mapping software
- Working knowledge of geological and geophysical datasets and basic E&P workflows
- Exposure to Python tools and data mining
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to travel as needed (if applicable)
