Job Summary
Conduct core sampling preparation, logging, and daily recordkeeping for underground and surface diamond drill core at the 28 Mine in Viburnum, MO. Saw, crush, split, and dump core samples while inspecting and logging data into available databases. Review logging results to determine core for assay based on ore mineralization and geologic features. Utilize forklifts and powered equipment like rock saws and crushers to organize pallets and maintain clean, safe facilities. Follow QAQC procedures and EHS policies for all tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and wearing required PPE. Complete tasks in an environmentally compliant manner with on-the-job training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification upon hiring
- Valid driver's license
- Basic Computer Skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook, etc.) and databases
- Ability to learn to operate powered and non-powered material moving equipment; forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift
- Ability to learn to use powered equipment; rock saw, rock splitter, crusher, pulverizer, and pneumatic lift assist
- Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Regularly requires feeling attributes of objects, grasping, pushing, pulling, and standing
- Regularly and repetitively required to lift up to 25 pounds
- Frequently required to lift up to 75 pounds
- Rarely required to lift up to 100 pounds
- Rarely works at heights of more than 4 feet with fall protection
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to loud noise levels
- Regularly required to wear PPE including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection, eyewear, steel toe shoes, and high visibility
