Job Summary

Create and maintain Web maps and Web Apps within ArcGIS Online, while assisting with full-cycle project support for Field Maps and Survey123. Manage environmental GIS data through editing, organization, and cartography for regulatory compliance reports. Post-process field data using MS Access and support non-spatial data management for environmental disciplines. Conduct environmental field tasks including equipment management, wildlife monitoring, water sampling, and soil analysis. Build innovative GIS models for unique environmental situations and promote site-wide compliance. This 12-month student term begins May 2027 in Fort McMurray, Alberta, with a 40% field/60% office split and a 4-on-3-off rotation.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a GIS degree, applied degree or diploma program
  • Solid understanding and experience of ESRI products (ESRI ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Model Builder)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean drivers abstract
  • Must be physically capable of working outside in the field on difficult terrain and in all weather
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions

Desired Qualifications

  • ArcGIS Online knowledge
  • Previous field data collection experience using ArcGIS
  • Previous FME, Python, AutoCAD experience
  • An understanding of remote sensing methods and data processing (LiDAR; Photogrammetry)
