Job Summary
Genset Mechanical Integration Engineer role focusing on design, integration, and development of genset systems based on LiquidPiston’s rotary engines. Hands-on engineering position requiring mechanical design, packaging, and simulation work, including creating part/assembly models in SolidWorks, leading early-stage genset architecture/layout, performing analyses with hand calculations and simulations, producing production-ready drawings, selecting components and coordinating with suppliers, and supporting assembly, testing, and documentation. Collaboration with electrical engineering to package electrical systems, and development of subsystem test plans and technical presentations to stakeholders. Emphasis on tight-space packaging, packaging for manufacturing, and experience with engine packaging and MIL-STD-810/1472 conformity is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in engine component/system design and simulation
- Experience in integrating multiple subsystems into a full package
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engine packaging and design for manufacturing
- Proficient in SolidWorks (modeling and assemblies)
- Experience with mechanical simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS)
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and communicate results effectively
