Job Summary
Conduct risk assessment, education, counseling, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer. Obtain personal and family medical histories, assess cancer risks and germline mutations, and determine if genetic testing is indicated per national guidelines. Interpret test results, provide post-test counseling, and discuss screening and prevention recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, supervise students, and participate in research and case conferences. Maintain patient charting, billing submissions, and detailed reports for referring providers.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in genetic counseling
- Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC)
- Exceptional communication skills
