Genetics Counselor

Conduct risk assessment, education, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer by obtaining medical and family histories, assessing germline mutation risks, and coordinating genetic testing per national guidelines. Interpret test results, provide post-test counseling, and discuss screening and prevention options while maintaining patient charting and billing submissions. Collaborate with physicians on multidisciplinary teams, supervise counseling students, and participate in research activities including protocol development and manuscript publication. Monitor program quality and efficiency, contribute to professional development through lectures, and provide public education. Work 8 hours per week on Shift 1 within the Comprehensive Breast Center.
