Job Summary

Conduct risk assessments, education, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer by obtaining personal and family medical histories. Assess cancer risks and germline mutation potential, determine genetic testing indications based on national guidelines, and weigh medical, psychological, and ethical impacts of testing. Interpret genetic test results, provide post-test counseling, and discuss screening and prevention recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, supervise students, participate in research and case conferences, and oversee program protocols to meet CoC and NAPBC standards. Maintain patient charting, billing submissions, and detailed reports for referring providers while ensuring culturally appropriate communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in genetic counseling
  • Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC)
  • Exceptional communication skills
