Genetics Counselor

Conduct risk assessment, education, counseling, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer. Obtain medical and family histories, assess cancer and germline mutation risks, and determine if genetic testing is indicated per national guidelines. Interpret test results, provide post-test counseling, and discuss screening and prevention recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, supervise students, and participate in research, case conferences, and program committees. Maintain patient charting, billing submissions, and detailed reports for referring providers. Monitor program utilization and quality while implementing improvements in care efficiency and safety.
