Genetics Counselor

Conduct risk assessments, education, and psychological support for individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer. Obtain personal and family medical histories, assess cancer risks and germline mutation potential, and determine if genetic testing is indicated per national guidelines. Interpret test results, provide post-test counseling, and discuss screening and prevention recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, supervise students, and participate in case conferences and committees. Monitor program utilization, implement care improvements, and contribute to research activities including manuscript development and presentations. Maintain patient charting, billing submissions, and detailed reports for referring providers.
